Can’t-Miss Kid-Friendly Attractions in Atlanta, Georgia

October 16, 2014 5:04 pm

Though Atlanta is usually known for its wild club scene, it has a wildlife scene as well. Your kids will have a blast at these two family-friendly attractions, both of which are located right in the heart of the city.

Georgia Aquarium
The Georgia Aquarium is a must-see attraction any time you drive into the city of Atlanta. This cutting edge facility opened in 2005 and is now home to more than 100,000 animals. Go indoor whale watching in the Ocean Voyager exhibit, or discover this secret underwater world through the largest viewing glass in the country. The kids will love searching for fish from around the world at the Southern Company River Scout exhibit. Finish your visit with a show starring dolphins and human actors that will blow your mind. Children of all ages are sure to enjoy this underwater wonderland.

Zoo Atlanta
The kids can befriend more than 220 species of animals at Zoo Atlanta, which houses the highest number of gorillas and orangutans in the country. The zoo is also one of the few zoos in the U.S. to house the fascinating giant panda. Take the little ones to the petting zoo before heading to one of the many wildlife shows with older children, and then reconvene at the wide selection of restaurants that includes the Wild Planet Cafe. Take advantage of all that Zoo Atlanta has to offer, especially the knowledge they're waiting to share with your children.
